PÈRE OLIVE DIGITIZES ITS PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS WITH TRACE ONE

Company

When they started out in 1993, Christine and Erik Maes were selling about 200 plastic dishes of olives a day. Today, the Belgian firm that they founded sells some 80,000 olive dishes per day, and is present in some twenty countries. European leader in the fresh olive market, Père Olive sells 10 varieties of olives from Greece, Spain, Morocco and France in 114 different recipes packaged in about 20 different ways, under three of their own brands (Père Olive, Apérolive, Signor Cempo) as well as under private-label brands for distributors throughout Europe.

Challenge

Like many food suppliers, Père Olive was creating its product specifications through agreements reached via time-intensive, labor-intensive, and mistake-prone pieces of paper.

Solution

Trace One Product Specifications module

RESULTS

Père Olive found an Internet-delivered SaaS-mode platform that could help:

  • Replace paper
Leading to lower costs, less time, increased reactivity, fewer exchanges and fewer mistakes.
  • Centralize document management
Providing always-on access for all players to guaranteed up-to-date in information in standardized formats, with specification archiving and product histories.
  • Define specifications faster
24/7 accessibility to ergonomic software with low learning curve and maximum reuse of validated information.

“The Trace One software is easy and practical to use” Delphine Capieaux, Quality Manager for Père Olive, adding, “If other Belgian retailers could use Trace One, that would make our work easier because all our product specifications would be available on line for all the players involved.”
