The rest of this page describes how to reach that office. We are intentionally describing that process in a lot of detail so you will not get lost. You may want to print this page out and bring it with you.
But remember: it is easier to get here than it is to tell you how to get here!
Taking a Taxi
If you are not familiar with the Paris public transportation system, you might want to think about taking a taxi, whether you arrive at the airport or one of the train stations. Taxis not only provide relatively fast, door-to-door service, but also remove the need for you to negotiate the extensive and sometimes complex-seeming train system.
Depending on traffic conditions and time of day, you can expect to pay between 50 and 75 euros from the airport to Trace One’s door, and about 20 euros from a point inside Paris.
From the Gare du Nord train station
- 1. Locate a ticket office, and purchase your metro ticket. (If you buy a booklet of 10 metro tickets, you pay less per ticket. But you may not want the extra tickets!)
- 2. The subway train lines are assigned with numbers. The first train line you want is line “4” so look for signs indicating Metro Ligne 4.
Directions in the Paris public transportation system are not based on compass directions (eastbound / westbound) but on the endpoints of each of the train lines. Before you take any train in Paris, you need to check to see which endpoint (terminus) it is heading for.
When you find Line 4, look for the signs that guide you to trains that are heading for “Porte de Clignancourt”. - 3. When you have found the correct platform, get on the next train that pulls into the station.
If the next stop for that train is the station of “Barbès Rochechouart”, then you are heading in the right direction.
If the next stop is any other station, then you are heading in the wrong direction, and you must get out and access the train going the other way. - 4. At Barbès Rochechouart, get off the train, and look for signs that will guide you to Metro Ligne 2.
- 5. You will have to go up the stairs to an outside platform, check for signs that guide you to trains that are heading in the direction of “Porte Dauphine”.
- 6. When you have found the correct platform, get on the next train that pulls into the station.
If the next stop for that train is the station of “Anvers”, then you are heading in the right direction.
If it is “Stalingrad”, you are heading in the wrong direction, and you must get out and access the train going the other way. - 7. When your train reaches the station called “Villiers”, get ready, because you will get off the train at the next stop, “Monceau”.
- 8. Get off the train, and walk to the exit towards the back of the train.
- 9. When you are above ground again, walk through the park on your right, all the way to the portal on the other side . Continue on your left, on "Rue de Monceau" our offices are on the left on number 47.
From Charles de Gaulle Airport
- 1. Take the inter-terminal shuttle bus to the RER (suburban train) station.
- 2. Buy a ticket for Paris. You may want to buy your return ticket at this time as well. Expect to pay about 20 euros for a return fare.
- 3. Locate the RER Line B train and get on board.
- 4. For the next half hour, the train will move towards and finally reach Paris.
- 5. The train station is “Gare du Nord”. Get off the train you are currently on, and look for signs that will guide you to Metro Line 4.
