The 10th ATP of CLP

The 10th ATP of CLPOn the 4th of May 2017, Regulation (EU) n. 2017/776 has been published on the Official Journal of the European Union. This regulation, also known as the 10th ATP, updates Regulation 1272/2008 (CLP).

In particular, it modifies the Annex VI of CLP regulation by updating the harmonised classification of 13 substances already listed under Annex VI, and by adding 23 newly harmonised substances to the same Annex.

The main innovation introduced by this regulation is the presence of Acute Toxicity Estimate (ATE) data within the harmonized classification of some substances. In ATP 10, ATE values are provided for nicotine (CAS: 54-11-5).

The 10th ATP has entered into force on December 1st 2018. This regulation is now considered as binding in its entirety, and applicable in all member states, without derogation.
