On June 05th, 2023, the Federal Register of Legislation published a standard on the "Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code – Standard 2.9.1 – Infant formula products” under the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991.
The scope of the standard enlists the following key points:
- General compositional requirements for various infant formula products;
- Includes products for special dietary uses;
- Provides labeling and packaging requirements;
- Sets out the guidelines for infant formula products.
The regulation is effective from April 21, 2023.
