How can manufacturers find regulatory information faster across multiple countries?

Finding regulatory information across multiple countries can become time-consuming when requirements and supporting data are stored in different locations. For manufacturers that need to answer questions about whether a proposed change is acceptable in different markets, fragmented regulatory information can delay the process of getting a reliable answer.

Shelley Tarbox of FMC describes how this challenge affected the company before it began using Trace One Devex PLM. Regulatory information was stored in multiple places, and answering a manufacturing question could require gathering information on the acceptance of a change across different countries. According to Shelley, finding that information could take anywhere from one day to as long as a week.

With Trace One Devex PLM, FMC can access its regulatory information through what Shelley describes as “one true source.” She explains that information that previously required days of searching can now be found with just a couple of keystrokes.

In this video, Shelley discusses how centralizing regulatory information in Trace One Devex PLM changed the way FMC finds answers to manufacturing questions and made information across multiple countries significantly easier to access.

“Before we were using Devex, it was a huge struggle for us to find our regulatory information. It was stored in multiple different places, and it was very time-consuming.

If we needed to ask a manufacturing question on what we could use, it may take a day, two, three, four days, even up to a week to find the information from all the different countries on the acceptance of the change.

Now, you know, I can go into Devex. I can find it with a couple of keystrokes. We’re able to do that by having one true source of all the information.”
