Eurasian Economic Union Modifies the Technical Regulations on the Safety of Meat and Meat Products

eu-proposes-import-tolerances-for-the-pesticide-deltamethrin (1)-2On April 4th, 2024, the Eurasian Economic Commission published document on the “Technical regulations on Safety of Meat and Meat products.

The following changes are emphasized in the notice:

  • Requirements are specified in relation to the labeling information on the nutritional value of meat products and slaughter products;
  • The changes pertain to slaughtered meat products, including the form of raw materials per the nutritional characteristics;
  • The label shall carry the use level of Protein at min 80% of the value and the calorie content of Fat, Carbohydrates and Energy shall be no more than 120%;
  • The transitional period is provided for the manufacturers to comply with the standard regulation.

The changes are effective from April 7th, 2024.
