GCC Publishes new Draft Standards on Dairy Food Products

On April 29, 2019, the Gulf Standardization Organization published new draft standards circulated for comments:
- “GSO / TC 05/ CD/ 1997:2019 Dairy fat spreads“, which sets changes to the definition of dairy fat spreads and recommends new limits for food additives and labeling rules applied to this food category;
- “GSO TC 05/ CD/ 2296:2019 Evaporated Milk“, which includes updates on the definition of evaporated milk and proposes new maximum levels for contaminants and toxins specified for milk;
- “GSO TC 05/ CD/ 2296:2019 Milkfat products“, which proposes the introduction of new labeling requirements;
The last date of comments is June 27, 2019, for “GSO TC 05/ CD/ 2296:2019 Evaporated Milk“ and “GSO / TC 05/ CD/ 1997:2019 Dairy fat spreads“ and June 29, 2019, for “GSO TC 05/ CD/ 2296:2019 Milkfat products.“
