Japan Implements New Rules to Handle Meat Exported to Singapore
On May 31, 2019, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare - MHLW (厚生労働省) has established the "Handling Rules for meat exported to Singapore.“
The aim of the document is to introduce new rules on the following:
- Meat hygiene certificate and export quarantine certificate, issued by the Food Sanitation Authority and the Animal Health Authority, respectively;
- Export requirements of meat to Singapore;
- Farms feeding animals that serve as the origin of Singapore exported meats;
- Procedure requirements, including a new form for the site of slaughter in case of meat exported to Singapore.
