Japanese Latest Amendments to Pesticides Reference Values

On February 28, 2019, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) published the Ordinance No. 46 of 2019 in order to amend “Specifications and Standards of Food and Food Additives.”
The amendment introduces new residual reference values for the following pesticides, applied on various food commodities:
- Acrinathrin, insecticide
- Etoxazole, insecticide
- Chinomethionat, acaricide and fungicide
- Diflubenzuron, insecticide
- Lancotrione Sodium, herbicide
Food commodities involved are corn, soybean, grapefruit and brussels sprouts.
